Entry Level Paramedic/Firefighter

Job Description: 

Forty hour per week full time paramedic/ firefighter position with the Kiowa Fire Protection District opening for applications.  Applicant must be a Colorado certified Paramedic, National Registry a plus.  Applicant must be a Colorado certified Firefighter I or II with Haz-Mat Operations.  Must hold a current CPR certification and ACLS certification.  Paramedic experience is a plus, as Kiowa Fire District has a diverse population and remote locations.  KFPD covers 324 square miles of north central Elbert County.

Applicant must complete an application and return it to the Fire Chief.  This is an entry level position starting at $37,000 per year.  Benefits include 80% of employee’s health insurance costs. Kiowa Fire Protection District has paid holidays as decided by the Board of Directors annually.

Duties include responding to all calls in district while on duty, both fire and EMS.  Other duties as assigned by Fire Chief.  This position answers directly to the Fire Chief.
